Dr. Adams will be providing classes to instruct owners on palpation and traction techniques for individuals interested in learning how to localize injuries on their pets and competitive athletes. Basic anatomy will be reviewed and techniques for palpation of front limbs, TMJ, cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, pelvis, tail and rear limbs. Basic traction techniques for specific joints will also be demonstrated and discussed. The goal of the instruction is to help owner’s localize issues when they are noticing mobility and gait changes, to localize painful areas and recognize when their pets may require intervention beyond basic pain medication, and massage. Instruction on simple traction techniques which can correct restricted range of motion (ROM) in specificities joints will also be provided.
